Noir – Kei Ninomiya

Kei Ninomiya, the newest member of the Comme des Garçons family, began in 2012 with just a handful of black pieces, but since autumn 2015, Noir has been an independent collection of the Comme des Garcons family.

The clothes are bold and complicated and often contain heavy metal parts instead of seams. Various options are used to hold clothes together in a different way to conventional sewing.

Tiny rivets often replace seams. Rings, rivets and tulle are often used to add that little something extra. Deconstructed silhouettes and futuristic textures in an all-black colour palette form the basis for the conceptual and intellectual collections.

Impeccable craftsmanship and innovative techniques result in pieces that are more like wearable art.
